Timothy Stevens
Investor communications and research from a former emerging-markets buy-side trader
I spent about 25 years in emerging markets, trading for institutional investors in London and Hong Kong. Now I help listed companies write results releases, presentations and research in a form fund managers will actually read.

Who I am
I'm Timothy Stevens. For more than 20 years I was a professional markets trader, across equities, fixed income and distressed assets, nearly all of it in emerging markets. Most of that time was at Genesis Investment Management in London, a $20bn emerging-markets long-only manager. I also spent two years in Hong Kong as a senior trader at Och-Ziff, where I wrote the daily market note for the whole firm.
I traded China A-shares at both firms, and a large amount of US equities too. Later I was Head of Institutional Trading at ITI Capital and Head of Investments at Visor Capital.
I've now left finance and work independently from Frome, Somerset. I have a BA (Hons) in History from Cambridge (2:1) and I'm IMC and HKEX qualified.
After decades on the buy side, I know what institutional investors look for when they open a results release or an investor deck, and where they stop reading. I write and edit with that reader in mind.

How it works
Start with a free trial page. Send me your latest results release and I'll redraft one page at no charge, so you can judge the quality before you spend anything.
Tell me the deadline, the key messages and any wording that must not change.
I'll sign an NDA for pre-release material and treat it as inside information.
One round of revisions is included. You and your advisers sign off the final text.
For mining research, the first short piece (a one-page summary or a single release edit) costs £150, credited against your first full order.

Read the PDFWhy work with me
I've been your reader.
For decades I sat on the buy side of emerging markets, at a $20bn EM long-only manager and a Hong Kong hedge fund. I know which numbers fund managers look for first and what makes them stop reading.
I write for professionals to a deadline.
At Och-Ziff in Hong Kong I wrote the daily market note that went to the whole firm.
I've covered a lot of ground.
I traded equities, fixed income and distressed assets, including China A-shares and US equities, in London and Hong Kong, on both the fund side and the broker side.
I keep it clean.
I work only from public information unless you give me pre-release material under an NDA. Commissioned pieces are clearly labelled, and I write in plain, native British English.
Get in touch
The quickest way to start is to send me your latest release and ask for the free trial page. I work UK hours and reply by email or phone, whichever suits you.
